Olivia turns 16!

Today Olivia turned 16! I rented out a small bowling alley in Leslie and several of her bowling teammates and family showed up to surprise her. It was really fun! We were able to keep it a surprise even! What a fun evening celebrating Olivia.

Spring sports kickoff & more bowling

Olivia had a bowling tournament this weekend in Westland and both Alex's and Abby's soccer teams opened up spring play. And it couldn't have gone better! Abby's team won both games and Alex's alternate team won their opener, with his two goals helping them secure a 3-1 win over Haslett. So we went 3-0 in soccer games this weekend! Olivia did a good job in her tournament averaging over 140 over the two days.

Thank you Giant!

Earlier this spring I bought myself a bike because I really needed to lose some weight! I have been biking 12 miles per day almost non-stop ever since. I didn't want to take a 9 day break from doing that so I got a bike rack and took it with me to Alabama. I am so glad I did. I biked almost 65 miles while down there and only gained a pound while eating alot of junk food and local food we needed to try. I also had personal bests while down there! I got my best time for 12 miles(44:32 - averaging about 16.25MPH) and two days in a row I did a 15 mile route and got a 56:18 and 56:40(about 16MPH)! It really made me feel good about biking.

Some final spring break shots

We leave Alabama tomorrow morning and what a trip it was! We had great weather the entire time and got several fun activities in but making sure to take downtime also. We had a great time with the Greathouses and made some great memories. Thank you, Alabama!

Battleship Park

Today was our last full day in Alabama so the boys went to Battleship Park in Mobile, AL. What a display! We got to see and tour the USS Alabama battleship and USS Drum submarine and see many cool aircraft, including an A-12 Blackbird, F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Strike Eagle, F-16 Falcon, F-18 Hornet, B-52 bomber and P-51 Mustang among many others. We took over an hour touring the Alabama and seeing how tight the quarters were on the Drum was enlightening. We told the girls we would probably be there an hour or so, I think we almost tripled that. Some very impressive machinery.
