Snowball fight!

School got cancelled today due to the roughly 4 inches of wet snow we got overnight. Alex and Emma went to friends houses but Livy, Izzy and Abby went out and had a snowball fight using the fallen trees as their forts.

Roxy's first snow!

The snow was almost up to her belly but Roxy loved playing and running through the snow! It was fun watching her just run around in it even though it was so deep to her.

Roxy wanted to help...

Until she heard the tractors!  She wanted no part of being near them, but once we shut them off she game to run around outside.

Yard cleanup

We were outside for about two hours this afternoon and made some good progress with the tree cleanup. So much wood on the ground. Got some more cut up and stacked, and continue to make a brush pile for the smaller stuff once we get a chipper.

Our twin trees come down

After a couple weeks ago when one of our large trees by the house had branches break and come crashing through our roof, we decided it was necessary to get them down.  A quote of almost $1500 per tree was a bit steep, so my friend Garrett, my brother and I decided to take them down. They couldn't have fallen better. They are huge. My neighbor from across the street was watching and said it shook his house when the second one came down. It was incredible and I couldn't have done it without my brother and Garrett. Anyone need some firewood?

A football Thanksgiving

Alex and I went to the Thanksgiving game today at Ford Field, to see the Lions take on our Bears.  Even without our staring QB, the offense provided just punch and the defense sealed it with a pick 6 and interception in the endzone in the closing minutes. A very exciting ending! Glad I was able to go to this game at least once, and seeing the Bears get a win made it even sweeter!

A new high game score for Olivia

Olivia got her first 'Turkey" this morning, in the 7th, 8th and 9th frames, on way to her best score of 175! This puts her average at just over 120 per game now for her season. She is doing absolutely fantastic!

Emma's 16th Birthday Party

Last night we had a surprise birthday party for Emma. Well, I say surprise, but on the way over all of her friends were 'checking in' at the same place on one of her phone apps, so the game was up!  However, it was still fun and the kids were awesome. I can't thank our friends enough, Pat and Kristina Greathouse for hosting, the Greathouses, Corey's and Houser's helping get everything together and making it happen.

A fun Sunday!

Well, the next fun thing with the house happened today, when we heard several loud thuds and when I ran outside I saw that several large branches had come down on the house! It punctured the roof in three spots. The fun never ends!
