Memorial Day 2011

Happy Memorial Day!  We are still on the generator as we have no power from the storm.  And since it is the hottest day of the year so far I filled up the pool, went and got water baloons and squirt guns, and invited some of the kids friends over who don't have power.  We were outside all day.  We even got out the sparklers since it felt like the 4th of July.  And of course we had to do a little toad hunting, too.  Now try to cool down, make sure the generator is gassed up for the night, and relax!!

Generator to the rescue!!

Well, the day started off great, nice morning, Amanda's folks came up for a bike ride (even though that meant me missing the Indy 500!), and then the storm came through.  We have been on the gnenerator since 5pm and we may not get power back until tomorrow at 5!  But other than a playhouse being blown about 35 feet we have no damage.  So I'll just keep gas in the tank and as long as the old Briggs and Stratton keeps running we'll have juice.  What a day!

Miniature Golfing

Decided on a whim to take the kids golfing.  They had fun of course, and wanted to do another round.  It was nice and empty, so we could relax and have fun.  It's been raining so much lately even if it's cool out we have to just do something outside!

Carwashing & Tractor Rides

It was a gorgeous day out so we decided to let the kids wash the van and I got the "fun" tractor out to give some rides.  It is nice having the feel of a sunburn again!!

Emma's Final 2nd Grade Soccer Game

Emma had her final game this morning.  They played hard, didn't win, but had fun.  At least it was a beautiful day for a change.  She has improved so much playing, it has been fun watching her get better.

Palmer Playground Fun

Tonight seems like the first time it hasn't rained in weeks!  So we took the kids into a park named after us in Mason (um...sure).  Had fun and let the kids burn off energy.  Hopefully the weekend stays nice!

Flour Fun

It is raining AGAIN, so we let the kids get messy with flour.  It was bath night anyway....

Mud fun & Emma scores 2 goals!

Well, Emma got her first, then her second goal in her soccer league.  Of course, I was home with Alex since he is under the weather so I missed it.  My dad got a couple pics with his phone though.  Izzy decided to try and clean the tractor with muddy water.  Didn't go so well.

My Weekend

Amanda went to Pittsburgh for her sister Julie's bridal shower.  I kept Alex and Izzy and was going to do some stuff that is normally hard with 5 since I only had 2!  However, Izzy decided to get sick and kept us from going anywhere!  However, Sunday afternoon she started feeling a little better so we went outside.  Alex and I played soccer, baseball and golf.  They played in the dirt and wanted tractor rides.  Even at her age she ralized after sitting on the green tractor that real tractors are ORANGE.  :)
