The Christmas Tree is up!

This afternoon we went out and cut down our tree(Izzy picked it out this year) and Olivia and Alex helped cut it down.  Got it all decorated tonight and it is starting to feel like Christmas!

Emma's Bulldogs play good but fall to Maple Valley

Emma and her team fought very hard, but fell to Maple Valley this morning.  Emma had a couple of baskets, rebounds and steals and played hard.  It was fun watching her team play.

2016 Silver Bells Light Parade

Well, for our 5th time doing the Silver Bells parade with the Michigan Millers float, it was an interesting evening!  It started out crazy warm, in the high 60's.  Then, just after we got done, the heavens opened up and it rained hard!  There was lightning and thunder, and sideways rain with the streets flooding.  It came on so fast.  Luckily we had just finished and we were all back in our vehicles as it hit!  But it was a great evening and we had lots of fun.

A quick visit to Wrigley

Well, after the Cubs won the World Series I needed to get down there to get a shot of us with the Wrigley Field Marquee proclaiming just that.  But with our schedules we could only make a day trip dash.  The day turned out perfect.  The weather was incredible.  We got our pictures, ate at the Cubby Bear, got some hats and t-shirts, and left our marks of encouragement on a ticket building across the street on Addison.  What a day!

Loading up on goodies at Dylan's Candy Bar on Michigan Ave

 Visiting 'The Bean'

Even Chicago's Christmas Tree will be 'Flying the W' for the Cubs!
And the Lions outside the Institute of Arts are showing their support
Emma's favorite show, 'Chicago Fire', uses Engine House 51 in Little Italy for it's exterior shots, so I ran her over there to get her picture in front of it.

A quick stop in the Palmer House
Eating at Steak N Shake on the way home

Emma starts her basketball season with two great games!

Emma's 8th grade girls basketball team started their season this morning with two games.  Emma did very well, especially after taking last year off from basketball to play indoor soccer.  They lost both games, but they were competitive in both, and played very well.  Emma had 8 points, several rebounds and steals for the two games.  Very proud of her and her team, since they have only had 3 practices and very little time playing together.
