Goodbye 2021

 We said goodbye to 2021 with friends and family at Leslie Lanes. Had a good time, even though of all the kids there we brought only Alex and Liv bowled!

 It is extremely hard to get good bowling shots of Olivia so today when she went to practice over break I made her suit up and asked the house if I could go down the side access lane. Love these as I can finally see her face! So proud of her and all the work she puts in. The season really ramps up now that the new year is here!

Christmas 2021

 Christmas 2021 was very nice. We went down to Mandy's parents on Christmas Eve and spent time with them, Ryan & Barb and Patrick. It was nice having a smaller group and being able to focus on who was there. 

Christmas morning was fun with the kids and then my family came over around 1. Had a great time with them and it was a really nice afternoon and evening. After the disappointing 2020 Christmas where we were limited with how many people we could see this was very nice. Kids mostly got new electronics (Emma ear pods, Olivia Apple watch, Alex new phone, Izzy a FitBit and Abby a phone) which aren't that fun for us but I got Alex a massive Lego set of Barcelona's stadium and Emma a Hogwarts set they can put together.

Mason Varsity Girls take it to Fowlerville

 The girls took it to Fowlerville today taking most of the points available. Livy started out by getting her Varsity high 183 to lead them in the first match. She even started that with a turkey! The girls bowled hard and it was a fun match to watch.

A new work home

 Today I started my new job at Fremont Insurance. I had been at Michigan Millers over 19 years but felt I needed to move on. It is very hard for me and today was pretty stressful. The next few weeks will be hard with getting to know all the systems and people, but hopefully soon it will start getting easier. The headquarters is about a 5 hour round trip but I will be working from home from now on except for the rare meetings there.

Mason vs Lansing Catholic Central

 Mason bowling squared off against Lansing Catholic Central today and came away with the win. Olivia did great on her first outing as a fulltime Varsity bowler getting high score in the first match.

 Got a couple fun videos of Olivia from the tournament today. First is one of many strikes and the second I barely caught her picking up her second split of the day!

Bowling kickoff!

 Olivia kicked off her junior year of high school bowling with a very strong showing. The Varsity girls placed 3rd in the seeding round out of 15 teams from the area and ended in the final four of the tournament and fell to a team that had their best game of the day - a 223! But they bowled well and it was a great outing and I couldn't be prouder of how Olivia bowled and her sportsmanship!
