mason Tractor show

Needless to say it was a very different show this year.  From Thursday morning my tractors being underwater, working all day Thursday and Friday, finally getting three of them up and running.  However the grounds did not recover as well, so the engines could not plow and there was an extreme shortage of dry real estate.  So not much went on.  I did get another small tractor to restore over the winter, as you can see it is small enough to fit in my ATV trailer.  And my sons 1963 Simplicity had to tow the one tractor I couldn't get running home.

Floating Tractors

Well, this would have been the first tractor show to have all tractors running.  Mother Nature had a different plan.  A severe storm came through and flooded the area we had set up camp for this weekend.  So in case you ever wondered, Simplicity's do not float.  Lots of draining of motor oil in the next few days for me...

Another new van

Well, after the air conditioning crapped out for the couple hottest weeks in Michigan's history, our 2003 Pontiac Montana became the shortest ever owned vehicle by me.  6 months.  Traded it in today for a 2005 Saturn Relay.  As you can see the Cubs plate is already on it making it ours.

Hot Sunday Part II

Yep, she wanted to go outside and play on the tractors.  She obviously has no idea what it means when the thermometer reads 95.  2 year-olds.... :)

Hot Sunday

Izzy was having a rough morning so Amanda took the other kids to Jackson to the beach and her parents boat while I got to stay home and be with Izzy.  Pretty sure I got the raw deal on this one! So for dinner we went to the air conditioned McDonalds and we played with the Strawberry Shortcake's that come in the Happy Meal.  I had to buy two extras so I would have one to play with, too.  All week is supposed to be hot.  Good grief.........

Tractor Girls

In preparation for the tractor show which is coming up in about two weeks, the small tractors got some running time tonight.  Sorry for the quality of the pictures, taken with the 'camera' in my phone.

Julie's Wedding

Unfortunately I took less photos at this wedding than any in my life!  I'll get to that in a minute.  The day started with our friend Heather and her cousin Shelly helping the girls with their hair.  They were such a huge help.  Then we set off to Jackson and I drove the 1925 Dodge from the Hoffman's to the church.  It was already extremely hot out.  Izzy was exhausted so for most of the wedding I was in the back with her crying then sleeping on me.  I heard the ceremony was lovely.
Afterwards Mandy went for photos while we had the kids.  On the way to the reception outdoor thermometers had the temp between 97 and 101.  Felt like it.
At the reception my job was pretty much watching the kids, which meant following Izzy everywhere while holding a crying Abbey due to a formula malfunction which meant she was very hungry because we couldn't find it!  So no photos.  It was great to see Julie and Joe get married, and the reception was very nice.  It would have been nice if they turned the thermostat down a bit, but a great none the less.  Congrats Joe and Julie.
