We were in Saginaw this morning for Alex's Nationals in the State Cup quarter finals. It was a hard fought game, with no score after the first 90 minutes. The 30 minute overtime still had no score. This was an extremely physical game, and the boys were gassed. But in the PL shootout Alex and the boys hit all their shots, and our goalie stopped one of theirs, enough to secure a trip to the semi-finals tomorrow!
Mason Girls Track & Field pulled out the Regional Championship that did not get done until after midnight due to a lightning delay. Way to go Izzy and Bulldogs!
Grand Ledge beat us again but it was a close 2-1 game. Plus, the officiating was comically bad. These girls have never had a yellow or a red card and they got one of each tonight. Grand Ledge still has a little more talent, but with that ref we didn't stand a chance. Sad, as we are close to beating them.
Izzy qualified for Regionals for pole vault and long jump. She did really good, but couldn't beat her personal records which would have been needed to advance. but she put on a good showing!
Izzy got Student of the Month, and this morning was the award presentation. Always nice to see others appreciate the hard work the kids put in to being a good student.

We had a beautiful day to celebrate the mom's in our lives. Spent some time in the afternoons at my moms and then went to Jackson to the Hoffmans.
The girls played to a very windy and cold 1-1 draw against Ovid Elsie. The effort was there, they just couldn't get another ball in the net when they needed it.
For the Bird's 28th birthday Liv and I went for a drive at lunch and then I made birthday brownies! However, the kids got into them before I got off work.
Alex's Nationals took on the Nationals union in Fraser tonight and hit them pretty good, 9-0. Was not competitive from the get go. Defense did not get much action tonight.
