Happy 17th birthday, Olivia

Olivia turned 17 today! What a year she had. Hard to believe she will be a senior next year. Liv, you have become an awesome person and I can't wait to see what you have in store for you. Happy birthday, love you!

Emma is back home

So proud of this girl! Emma came home today after finishing her freshman year at GVSU. She passed all of her classes and will be home all summer. Welcome home!

Buick drives on a racetrack....

On the way to Alex's game today I stopped by the Packard Proving Grounds that were built in 1927 on Van Dyke in Shelby Township. I even got the Buick out on the small piece of the 2.5 mile oval track (the same size as Daytona, check out the last photo) that is left. Very cool place, would like to go for a tour at some point but we had a soccer game to get to!

Alex's Cap City gets first win

Alex and I went to Macomb this afternoon and the boys played hard and got their first win. It was extremely windy but they managed it better than Sterling and came away with a 1-0 win.

Bulldogs take it to Williamston

Abby and the girls took it to Williamston this morning beating them 3-0! They played very good once again and have a weekend off to practice more and stay sharp to stay undefeated!

Trampoline bed

Izzy, Abby and Charlie decided to sleep on the trampoline last night. They actually made it! I didn't get a picture of them on it but this is them at 7 this morning after being woke up by outdoor noises. Glad I didn't make a bet with them that they could do it, I would have lost!

A long soccer day

Today was interesting. Even though there was heavy rains last night the facility in Byron Center didn't think to make sure the field was acceptable until after the 45 minute warm-up period and the game was supposed to start. After 30 minutes of discussion they finally secured a turf field at Wayland HS about 15 minutes away. The game got under way about 90 minutes late and the boys played hard but fell short 2-1. They seem to be getting closer to their first win.

Alex gets to play at home

Tonight Alex got to play at Mason with his Cap City team. It felt good to be home! It was a cold night and the boys played hard, but got beat in the end. We have four more games in the next 4 days!

Abby starts spring soccer

Abby's team started their season with a 1-1 tie vs Okemos this afternoon. They played very well and had several shots on the goal and looked very good. Looking forward to her season!

Emma gets her car

Last night I drove Emma's car to GVSU to get her as she was coming home for Easter. I took her car so she could drive it home. Her first drive went well, and she likes it!

A new car in the family

Today I went and purchased Emma's first car. I will be going to GVSU Thursday to pick her up in it for her first drive. Finding a good car at a reasonable price has been so hard right now, I had to jump on this when I had the chance. It is a 2007 Acura RDX. It's a sporty little crossover with only 105k miles on it, and it has been cared for. Hopefully it is a good car for her for several years!

Mason Bowling article

A high school sports magazine did a nice writeup on the girls!

Naked Thunderbird

The past two days were pretty eventful with dropping both the front cross member that holds the engine and transmission and the rear subframe that holds the suspension. Pretty crazy to me how much has been taken off this car!
