Aberdeen Day 2 - The Beach

We walked over to the beach so we could see the North Sea. Had to at least put my hand in it!  A very nice evening.

Aberdeen Day 2 - Knock Castle

Our last stop was Knock Castle. Another castle ruin from the 1500's. This was a smaller castle, a different style from Auchindoun. Still very cool, however, our rental car bottomed out and had a difficult time with the extremely steep and rocky two-track we had to take to get there.

Aberdeen Day 2 - Balmoral Castle

Next up was Balmoral Castle. Very impressive seeing a working royal residence, but that also means most of the interior is off limits. The grounds were very impressive, and we got to meet a royal Highland cow!

Aberdeen Day 2 - Bridge of Livet

The Old Bridge of Livet and Glenlivet distillery were next on our stop. The bridge was very cool. Glad we stopped to see it. The distillery was closed, but I wanted to at least see it.

Aberdeen Day 2 - Auchindoun Castle

This morning we headed west to check out some places we wanted to see. Auchindoun Castle was first. It is a castle ruin from the 1400's. Amazing what is still standing. So awe inspiring! Our poor rental car - a Vauxhall Mokra - took a little beating getting to this castle and the next castle ruin we saw.
