Tonight marked the end of the 2023 Mason Soccer season. Alex cleaned up, receiving the following awards:
CAAC All Academic Award
All Conference Award
All District Award
All Region Award
All State First Team Award
Third Year Varsity Award
He also received the Leadership award, gave a good Captains speech, and was selected as off-season captain. A very successful season for both himself and his team.
The community of Mason came out in force at the State Final for the Bulldogs at Ford Field in Detroit. It was fun going there and watching them play on the big stage of an NFL stadium. Unfortunately, we could not pull out a win. But they still had a great season and we had fun going there watching them.
We had to hold off decorating the tree for a bit with an emergency trip to Meijer for more lights, but after that things ran smoothly.
This afternoon we were able to get our tree. It was one of the quickest finds we have ever had! We weren't at the Tree Farm for more than 20 minutes total!
Spent Thanksgiving at home with family. It was a beautiful day! Mandy got motivated and put up some Christmas lights, too!
Emma had a very weekend in Chicago planned by her Aunt Barb! Emma, Abby and Mandy went with Ryan & Barb and their family and had a great time. They went to the Christkindlmarket (a German Christmas market), The Winter Wonders display at the Museum of Science and Industry, a production of A Christmas Carol at the Goodman theatre, and a very nice dinner at Mortens, where Emma got a special menu wishing her a happy 21st birthday! Thank you Aunt Barb!
Izzy had her first Varsity Gymnastics Invitational today and it was so amazing watching her compete! It has been 4 years of being on this varsity team practicing and she is finally a high schooler! So proud of her for getting out there and doing her thing. I know she was nervous, but she got the first one out of the way and did fantastic!
