Just over a mile from where we are staying in Gulf Shores is Fort Morgan. It was originally a fort built during the War of 1812. 30,000,000 bricks were made and used in the construction of it. Olivia, Alex, Ethan, Garrett and I decided to go have a look this morning and it was very cool to walk around the area. An odd mix of old brick fort and newer World War I vintage reinforced concrete merged together. We were only going to spend an there but ended up spending longer than that checking out the fort and batteries, some very interesting structures!
