Back to soccer

 Alex started his summer league season tonight and it was the first time a lot of these boys played together. They played well, falling to DeWitt 2-1. But we scored an own goal so other than that we played even with one of the best teams in this division. We'll see how the rest of the games go, might give us a clue how the fall season will go.

Racing in America

 A new exhibit opened up this year at the Henry Ford about the history of auto racing in America. I told my dad for his birthday I would take him there and we finally got to it! It was very cool, I had seen the 2016 LeMans winning Ford GT before at the North American International Auto Show in 2017, but it was cool to see it in an exhibit. Got to see many incredible cars, other highlights for me were the 1967 LeMans winning Ford GT Mark IV, the 2011 Daytona 500 winning Ford driven by Trevor Baynes, Jim Clark's Lotus, and many others. It was a fun trip the Henry Ford.

Emma's High School graduation open house

 Yesterday was Emma's open house. Since I hadn't seen many of the people in way too long I did not take as many pictures as I would have liked. But it was more important visiting with them. We had a great time and are very grateful for everyone that stopped by. It was a great celebration of Emma's completing high school.

A school year for the books is done

 The year of home schooling is done! Alex has been going to school for about two months now, but Olivia, Izzy and Abby never set foot in their school building all year. Crazy. I am looking forward to next fall and hopefully getting back to normal. But they all made it through the year, and I am so proud of them for adapting to the situation and succeeding, not just surviving. Very proud dad of the kids here.

Izzy is back in the gym!

 Tonight Izzy finally was able to get back inside the gym! She is the last one to be able to get back to her sport after the Covid shutdown. Her last practice was in late February last year. So after a 15 month layoff she said it felt really good to get back in there. I was so glad to her afterwards with a big smile on her face. 

Playing in the rain

It has been very warm the past couple of days so when the girls saw it raining they ran out and tried to get Roxy to cool off. They had fun, but Roxy didn't seem to feel the same way!
