Chicago Trip Day 1 - Willis Tower/Navy Pier

So, early Sunday morning we boarded Amtrak in East Lansing and headed off to Chicago!  The train was such a good idea.  Kids loved it.  We got to Chicago with beautiful weather and went up in the Willis Tower and then went to Navy Pier.  It was a long day but definitely fun.  Kids can't wait to get the rest of the week on! 

 Downloaded a speed app so we could keep track of the train, maxed out at 114 MPH!

Saturday Alex got to pitch again.  He absolutely loves pitching!  It is so fun seeing him out there trying his hardest.  He even got a strikeout.

Memorial Day at Greenfield Village

Today we went to Greenfield Village with my mom and dad.  Had tons of fun, it was beautiful weather, if a tad hot.  But ice cream and free refills of lemonade helped alot with that!  Saw lots of cool sights, kids loved hoping into all the buildings to see what was inside.  Fun was had by all! 

Alex gets his first hit vs Okemos!

Alex played against Okemos tonight and got his first hit!  He did great pitching and fielding, too. Made several good plays in the infield.

So after practice on Thursday for his machine pitch team the coach called on Friday saying he thought Alex was good enough to also play on the kid pitch team.  So he will be playing on both teams!  The first game was this morning with a scrimmage between the two mason teams.  He got to pitch for an inning, play catcher, and made a great infield play at short stop.  With Izzy going for soccer evaluations next week, gonna be a fun summer!  

First 80 degree day and baseball!

It sure feels like summer now!  Alex is in full swing with baseball practice and we finally have an 80 degree day!!  Let summer begin!
