Weekend Getaway

Woah! It has been way too long since the last update. We were fortunate enough several weeks ago to go up to Jackie's folks place near Charlevoix. It was so relaxing to go up north and do nothing but relax and play with the kids and spend time with my brother and Jackie. The kids love staying there partly because they can catch frogs all the time. Going to the beach, walking around downtown with ice cream, all seem more relaxing up north for some reason. Thanks Aunt Jackie!

Ingham County Fair

We took the kids with my brother and his wife to the fair last night. What a crowd. The kids had fun on the rides, but it was packed. Constantly watching the little ones was crazy. But, the kids had fun so I guess that is what matters. Not sure about next year though when we will have four walking!

Steam Show

Well, the 2009 edition of the Steam Show has come and gone. Great weather all weekend except for about a 1 hour rain Saturday night. My dad and brother had repainted one of their engines and had it at the show for the first time in 4 years. I brought my 1965 Simplicity and gave a hay ride and carted the kids around. Always plenty of characters there.

At The Park

Saturday evening we went to get ice cream and go to the park with our firends Mandy and Tim and their kids. Which is always smart to take the kids to the park and let them burn off the energy they just took in from the ice cream. We are also of course getting ready for the Steam Show coming up this weekend. My dad and brother just finished repainting one of their engines so it looks pretty sharp. Whoever wants a ride come on out.

July 4 Weekend

We stayed home again for the fourth, so we could attend Mason's parade. Emma and my dad drove the Dodge in the parade, and the rest of us sat on the sidewalk and had fun. We got some work done and had just relaxed. Sometimes it's good to just chill at home. My grandpa left today to go back home to Florida. It will be another year before seeing him again, that seems like such a long way away. We'll miss ya gramps.
