Last night was the last soccer banquet for Alex. He once again had quite the haul. He was All-Conference, All-District, All-Region and 1st Team All-State. I am so proud of his athletic accomplishments, but the fact he was captain for two years, two years given the Mason Soccer Leadership award, and 3 years running with the All-Academic award is even better. These are qualities that will take him further in life. What an amazing run with Mason Soccer.
Mandy and I got to visit the Detroit Athletic Club Saturday for a gala for FGR schools. This was due to Barb sponsoring the event and inviting us to go with her. What a night! We got to tour the building, have a wonderful dinner and I even got one of the few rooms they have there so we could spend the night. It was an awesome experience. We owe you, Barb!
The Jets took the Halo Classic today in Adrian. It was fun seeing them beat schools like U of M, Bowling Green and others they don't normally play. Nice bowling today!
Nice work Abby! National Junior Honor Society member. Proud of her with her schoolwork, doing so well and getting ready to be a highschooler!
This is a shot of Alex's goal vs De La Salle. So thankful for Aiden, one of Alex's classmates for getting it. In the first half there were three of us from Mason basically standing in the same spot! I normally would have moved here in the second half but I suggested to Aiden to go there and I would go on the other side of the field to get more coverage. So I did not get a good shot of this but he came through. Glad he did, as this was a big moment and Alex's last goal for Mason.
Changed the oil and got her cleaned up to put away for the winter. Looking forward to getting the rear end apart and squared away. Hopefully next summer she gets some miles on her!
The boys fell just short of their goal of making it back to the State Finals. They were beat tonight by De La Salle in the Semi-Final. Alex played a monster game and tournament. Tonight, he was all over, even being moved to midfield where he scored their only goal of the game. That made his tally 3 goals in 6 games, not counting the PK's in shootouts. 2 of his goals were the only goals scored by Mason. I am going to really miss watching him play for Mason. I think he had a pretty good career.
Mason took down Ortonville Brandon today to capture their second Regional Title in a row! They played hard, and it didn't go to a PK shootout! Was a fun game to watch. Proud of these guys.
