This weekend Olivia and I went to Kalamazoo for her bowling regionals. Friday, the girls team made the cut and advanced to States this upcoming weekend. They played below their ability but managed to advanced still, so looking forward to next weekend and seeing what happens if they are all on their games! Today they had individual games and Olivia did great, just missing the cut by 19 pins. She played so well, but came up just short. So proud of her and her team!
The 2022 soccer season started this morning with Alex's first indoor scrimmage with his Cap City club team. It was good to see him back at it, even though neither of us really like indoor soccer. He has an outdoor tournament next month so this is a good warm up for that. He even got called into goal, which has not done since about 5th grade!

This afternoon the girls took on Charlotte and came out with the win. Olivia struggled a bit but the important thing is that they came away with a W as they are fighting for a share of the CAAC title. Tomorrow is their last match, if the weather cooperates, as we are looking at a storm possibly hitting us. Hopefully not!
Today Olivia bowled in her conference singles tournament. She started out extremely hot rolling a career high 220! She was in 4th place after 4 games. Unfortunately, she couldn't figure out what she needed to do on the last pair of lanes and fell to 11th. 11th out of 55 isn't bad, but it was hard after such a hard start. Still a fun day bowling.
Met the Hoffman's tonight for a dinner in Ann Arbor to celebrate Ryan's 40th birthday. Had great food and lot's of laughs. A fun night out for the adults.
A very fun match today! Both the boys and girls varsity beat their main rival, Holt! Liv started the first game a little below her average but fought to win her point, then won the second game securing both points with a solid game. Then in the Bakers she killed it in her four frames getting 3 strikes and a spare! They needed every pin as they took the points 16-14 for the win. The bowling alley was a great atmosphere and it was great seeing both teams come out on top.
An example of the fun these guys were having - our friend Kyra got a 7-10 split so the pro on her lane called over another pro and they did this. They were a fun group of guys.
Tonight we went to Jax 60 (along with most of the Mason bowling team) and bowled with the pro bowlers from the PBA Tour. It was quite an experience. Liv got to bowl 3 games with a different pro each game. She also got to meet some of the best on the tour. I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly and personable they all were. Posing for tons of photos and signing everything people asked. It was a really fun night.

Alex finished up his Lego Camp Nou, the home stadium for Barcelona FC. It is pretty sweet! It barely fits on his dresser!
The girls couldn't quite pull off 4 tournament wins in a row. But they fought hard, leading after 10 games and stalling just enough to finish a strong second. So in their 5 tournaments this season they had a 3rd, 1st, 1st, 1st and 2nd! Extremely proud of these ladies and having such a good time watching them bowl. Liv is bowling so good!
Olivia bowled her first 300 game on Wii Bowling. My best is 213. Yep.
