Visiting the Packard Plant

Today Mandy and I went and took a tour of the world famous Packard plant in Detroit.  It is an amazing complex. There are endless amounts of better photos online of the buildings, our tour kept us moving through at a decent pace.  But it was so surreal walking through the with all the history there of making amazing motorcars.  3.5 million square feet of factory, we only walked through a small portion in two hours, but it is something I will remember forever.  We also stopped by the Ford Piquette Plant, Ford's first dedicated factory.  I have been there a couple times but Mandy wanted to see it and since we were there, couldn't pass it up!

Awards Day!!

This morning Olivia had her awards banquet for bowling and got a trophy for most improved average and sportsmanship!  They only give two sportsmanship awards per year and she has gotten one two of her three years.  I'm proud of her for both being a good bowler and having a great attitude and supporting her teammates.  She also got a certificate for perfect attendance and several chips for achievements. 

Later in the morning Abby earned an achievement award at gymnastics!

Then this afternoon Alex and some teammates from his basketball team took first place in a 3 on 3 tournament.  All around an amazing sports day!!

Tonight Alex gave a commanding performance as Bob the Janitor.  His most realistic enactment was sleeping while people were yelling at him.

Fun with our new wagon

It was so nice this weekend we got to use the new wagon we just got!  Izzy's tractor pulled it around the yard with friends and family over the weekend.  We are going to have some serious fun with this later this summer!

Emma starts her first job!

Emma started working for our friends ice cream shop today for her first job.  She was nervous, but our friends are going to be great and this is a great experience for her! She even made me a killer shake after her shift!



Livy stays amazing in day 2 of tournament

Olivia stayed awesome in day 2 of her tournament, bowling a career high 406 series in the first set this morning, and a 323 series in the second.  She bowled 12 games over the weekend and averaged 125 per game!  She has come so far, so very proud of her!

Livy has an amazing bowling day

First, this morning Olivia finished her bowling league strong by bowling a 384 series to bring her final average up to 110 for the year.  She has gone from 81 her first year, to 94 last year and 110 this year.  However, she wasn't done there.  She had a city bowling tournament in Charlotte with three other girls from Mason and they did awesome.  Olivia had a high series of 398, averaging 132 to help her team beat the team they were up against.  She was amazing!!

Spartan Classic Basketball Tournament

The 5th grade Bulldogs played 6 six games the past two days and went all the way to the Championship game tonight but fell short by 2 points.  They played very well and played an outstanding final game.  Alex did great, and as always was a blast watching him and his team.
