My dad did it for us....

We used to run around chasing trains, so when we heard the horn we tore into town for Alex to see the train.  The boy loves them.  And you can get nice and close!  And of course on the way home us boys had to get a couple of A&W rootbeers....

Delta Rocks

We went to the Delta Township fair today with our friends and had a great day out in the sun doing lots of different activities.  From inflatables to climb and slide down, a carnival ride, face painting, golf, hockey, water baloon slingshot, cotton candy, a dunk tank, petting zoo...hopefully I didn't forget anything!  All in all a good day out for the kids to just have some fun. 

Fathers Day Weekend

Wow, 5 kids!  So this weekend we were outside all the time, it was hot but sunny.  The kids wanted our photo taken on the 1965 Simplicity Landlord, and the kids had fun because I got out Alex's 1963 Simplicity Broadmoor and Livy's 1968 Simplicity Yeoman.  They love their tractors.  My brother took his airplane on it's maiden flight, and unfortunately due to an abnormally long takoff run and a freak gust of wind, it ended up in a tree, 60 feet up.  That was fine, but it took us an hour and a half to sling a rope through the tree and rock it hard enough with the tractor to shake it loose.  Than it fell the aformentioned 60ft and uh, well, it was done.  So we went into town and drowned our sorrows with ice cream!!  All in all, it was a great Fathers Day.

Steam Show Countdown Calendar

So Alex keeps asking when the Antique Tractor Show is, so I decided we should make a countdown calendar like we do for Christmas.  Yep, we really did it.  I printed off a picture of his favorite engine and every day until the show he can rip off a Flywheel and see how many days are left!  Hey, he loves it and it entertained us for the night.... :)

Monkey see Monkey Do!!

Livy was upset yesterday when she saw Alex ride on two wheels and was unable to do it.  So, I guess she figured out in her dreams and went for it today and did it!

So, we pretty much asked Alex if he wanted to go to two wheels, he said yes, we gave him one push and off he went!!  My boy doesn't need training wheels!  He was so proud of himself.  Next, it's mowing the lawn... :)

Izzy gets a Radio Flyer!

My mom found this great little bike at a garage sale.  Izzy loved it.  Tomorrow we will go somewhere where she can really open it up!  The garage is a little crowded....

We went to see our friend Jayden play some baseball tonight.  So great seeing these little ones playing hard and just enjoying the game.  I love the second photo down where he looks like he is telling the first base coach (who happens to be his dad!) "Yeah, yeah, I got it!".  Love it.

Country Livin'.....

I still think it's funny how excited the kids get when the deer drink from our little water hole in the back yard.  Sorry for the fuzzy photos, I was shooting through a dirty window!  They were yelling at them to come inside, but suprisingly they didn't go for it...

1925 Dodge, birthday and pool parties!!

So, to make sure our 1925 Dodge Brothers sedan is ready for my sister-in-law Julie's wedding next month, I got it out of winter storage, got it a new battery and it fired right up.  I hope I wake up that easy when I'm 86 years old!  When the kids saw it out they asked if they could go to a birthday party at the park in it, so why not?  We went to the party, invited a few of the kids over to the house for a pool party (it was 90 again!) and then we got hot dogs and hamburgers which I grilled up for the kids and a couple of our friends.  And of course I gave the kids rides in the car after dinner.  A very nice Saturday.
